Which plan is your month?
Answer it about your own posting rather than about contacts, and the number works itself out.
An estimate from the rule the app bills on: a person counts once a month, the first time the app sends them something. People who comment on several posts count once, so your real number is usually lower. Nobody the app didn't answer counts.

How many contacts do you actually need?
A month is a hard unit to picture. Here are the same allowances as a normal working day.

Working one through. Say you post four times a week and two of those get real questions, with about fifteen people asking on each. That is thirty a week and roughly a hundred and twenty a month — comfortably inside Essential, with most of it spare for the week something takes off.
Remember what a contact is when you do this sum: one person, once a month. Somebody who comments on five of your posts is one, and so is a conversation that runs all afternoon. The number is people who wanted something, not messages sent — so the regulars who comment on everything cost you nothing extra.
And start lower than you think. A month that goes past the plan keeps answering, and moving up before it closes drops the extra altogether. Paying all year for a ceiling you touched once is the more expensive mistake, and it is the one nobody notices they are making.
